Nustadia Recreation Announces Carla Alderson as General Manager, HRM Operations

Nustadia Recreation is pleased to announce that Carla Alderson has joined the organization as General Manager, HRM Operations, effective June 29.

Carla brings extensive experience in recreation, sport, facility operations, staff leadership, and community-focused service delivery. Most recently, she served as Manager, Service Operations with the Canada Games Centre in Halifax, where she provided leadership across several key departments, including Fitness & Wellness, Customer Service, Membership Services, Facility Rentals & Events, and Duty Coordination.

Throughout her career, Carla has led large staff teams, managed significant operating budgets, supported facility rentals and events, and worked closely with municipal and community partners. She also played an important role in the opening and early operation of the Canada Games Centre, contributing to planning, staffing, programming, occupational health and safety, and risk management.

Carla is also highly involved in the sport and recreation community, including leadership and volunteer roles with Hockey Nova Scotia, Team Nova Scotia, KidSport Nova Scotia, and local minor hockey programs.

As General Manager, Carla will provide leadership and oversight for Nustadia’s HRM operations, supporting facility teams and continuing to deliver high-quality recreation services to the community.
